Business consulting that actually changes how you operate

We sit with owners and managers of small and mid-sized companies in Glasgow and across Scotland. Together we look at the numbers, talk to the team, and figure out what to fix first. No 80-page reports that gather dust.

You know something needs to change. We help you see what.

The situation we often find

Revenue is flat or growing slowly. Margins have thinned over the past two years. Key staff are stretched thin, and nobody is sure which products or services are actually profitable. The owner spends most of their week firefighting instead of planning.

Sound familiar? About 70% of the businesses that contact us describe some version of this picture. It is not a failure; it is a growth ceiling, and almost every company hits one.

What changes after we get involved

Within four to six weeks, you will have a clear view of your cost structure, know exactly which revenue lines justify investment, and hold a 90-day action plan with named owners for each task. We do not hand you a strategy deck and disappear. We stay for the first implementation cycle so the plan survives contact with reality.

Most clients see measurable margin improvement within the first quarter. Some need longer. We tell you honestly which camp you are likely in before we start.

What we do for you

Four core areas of consulting, each tailored to where your business is right now.

Financial health review

We dig into your P&L, balance sheet and cash flow over the past 12 to 24 months. You get a plain-English summary of where money leaks out, which cost lines have crept up, and what your break-even really looks like once you strip out one-off items. Takes roughly two weeks from data handover to final report.

Operational restructuring

If your team is busy but output is stalling, the problem is usually in how work flows between people and departments. We map your processes, identify the three or four bottlenecks that cause the most delay, and redesign those workflows. We run a two-week pilot with your staff before locking anything in.

Growth strategy

Expanding into a new market, launching a product line, or acquiring a competitor? We build the financial model, assess the risks, and create a timeline with milestones. Our clients use these plans to secure bank lending, pitch to investors, or simply decide whether the opportunity is worth pursuing at all.

Leadership and team coaching

Founders who have grown their company from five people to forty often find their management style no longer fits. We work one-on-one with directors and senior managers over a three-month programme, covering delegation, difficult conversations, hiring decisions and performance management. Sessions happen fortnightly, either in person at our Glasgow office or over video.

How an engagement typically runs

Discovery call

A 30-minute conversation, free of charge. We ask about your business, your goals and what is frustrating you most. You ask us anything you like. No sales pitch.

Diagnostic phase

If we agree to work together, we spend one to two weeks gathering data, interviewing key people and observing operations. You pay a fixed diagnostic fee agreed upfront.

Recommendations

We present findings and a prioritised action plan. Everything is written in language your team can act on. We walk through it together so there are no surprises.

Implementation support

We stay involved for the first 90 days, joining weekly check-ins and adjusting the plan as real-world results come in. You keep full ownership of every decision.

Common questions

How much does a typical engagement cost?
The initial diagnostic phase runs between £2,500 and £5,000 depending on the size of your organisation. Ongoing implementation support is billed monthly at rates we agree before any work begins. There are no hidden fees.
Do you only work with companies in Glasgow?
Most of our clients are in Scotland, but we regularly work with businesses across the UK. The diagnostic phase benefits from at least one on-site visit, but everything else can happen remotely if that suits you better.
What industries do you specialise in?
We have deep experience in professional services, construction, food and drink manufacturing, and e-commerce. That said, the operational and financial principles we apply are relevant to any SME with 10 to 250 employees.
Will you replace our accountant or solicitor?
No. We work alongside your existing advisers. In fact, we often collaborate with your accountant to get the data we need faster. Our role is strategic and operational, not compliance-based.
What happens if we are not happy with the results?
After the diagnostic phase, you decide whether to continue. There is no lock-in contract for implementation support; you can pause or stop at any monthly billing cycle. We would rather part on good terms than keep billing a client who is not seeing value.
